Netflix Releases Trailer For Documentary Series About 80’s Toys/Premieres December 22

Last week, Netflix dropped a trailer for their new documentary-series about 1980’s toy collecting. The Toys That Made Us seems to revolve around the early days of action figures and dolls when they were just becoming a large part of our culture.

As shown in the trailer, the show’s first episodes will center around Barbie, GI Joe, He-Man and Star Wars. Fun fact about Star Wars toys; they were so unprepared for how massive the movie would be, that for Christmas 1977, instead of getting Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader figures, kids were given vouchers for figures when they were later produced.

If it sticks with the usual, high-quality production of Netflix, I’m sure it’ll be a great blast to the past before all toys came in fidget spinner format. The Toys That Made Us will debut on Netflix on December 22.
